SLOA Strategic Plan

Pawòl Péyi

“…where so ever you may roam, Love, oh love your island home.”

Our anthem anticipates that the people of Saint Lucia would one day leave its shores and explore other lands.  The hope embodied within is that we would always love and stay closely connected to our native land and each other.

My early memories, following our move to Canada, are of growing up in the Glebe; every weekend friends and family would gather on Frank Street.  The camaraderie, support and sense of home that my mom, dad and the expats created were invaluable, and, in many ways, shaped all our lives.

“The future depends on what you do today” ― Ghandi

We are at a point where we have a tremendous opportunity to renew and rejuvenate our community to rekindle that old feeling on Frank St. and contribute to a better future for Saint Lucians here and at home.

September brings with it a sense of renewal and re-investment.  Whether you are heading back to school, preparing children for the coming year, or thinking ahead for change in the weather, September tends to be the month to invest, make a change or do something new.  I hope you will join the SLOA Executive in our efforts to re-invest in community, change our direction and renew our commitment to our members and the broader community.

In the last few weeks, I have been proud to embark on this venture with a hard-working team of passionate individuals.  I am happy to introduce your Executive Committee.
